Midrange Pioneer
Dennis Fletcher has been both a midrange pioneer and leader in the midrange computing community for many years. As the principal in Fletcher Marketing Services, he began providing high-tech marketing services for the IBM midrange vendor community in 1985. His earlier business experience has included management organization, marketing, computer storage and high availability, as well as business communications.

Dennis has been a constant participant in the development and marketing of sophisticated storage solutions for the IBM midrange community, working with leading storage providers including IBM, Key Information Systems, American International and Digital Equipment’s StorageWorks. He has also worked with most of the leading providers of high availability solutions in the IBM midrange market, including Vision Solutions, Lakeview Technologies, iTera and Maximum Availability.

As an IBM Systems Engineer, Dennis published the first textbook ever written on the RPG programming language and continues to author articles and white papers for the computer trade press. He has authored several self-study courses on IT subjects, served as an advisor to both community colleges and computer publications. For years he authored a monthly column, The State of Storage for Database Trends & Applications, and has contributed product-related articles and buyers guide information to several IT trade publications.

Dennis was responsible for the IT function throughout the U.S. Department of the Interior during the 1972 presidential reorganization, where he worked on our nation's first Land Use Planning Act and helped automate processes for the National Library of Natural Resources. As a general management consultant he has advised many organizations including the U.S. Air Force, ARCO, AT&T, El Camino Resources, and Consolidated Frieghtways. In the late nineties, he represented Digital Equipment on the RAID Advisory Board (RAB), the Fibre Channel Loop Community (FCLC) committee, the SCSI Trade Association (STA), and the AIT Forum (tape technology).

Dennis holds an AA degree from Pasadena City College in Languages (Spanish, German), a BS with honors from Cal Poly Pomona in Industrial Marketing, and an MBA with honors from California State University at Los Angeles (CSULA).

“Dennis is a very creative public relations professional who networks constantly to get his clients good exposure in the media. He keeps on top of the high-tech industry and develops sound strategic marketing plans to help his clients enhance their image and leverage results with better decision-making on marketing opportunities.” — Chris Smith, CC Communications, February 5, 2009
